The Classic Gibson Guitar

In order to sing country songs well, try singing with your head voice. Usually, you need to sing with your head voice when you require hitting high notes as singing with your throat can cause it to get strained and you may even go into falsetto. Country singers usually have very good high pitches and head voices can sound more seamless with a lot more flow and power. Also, with country singing you have to learn to pronounce your words correctly and your diction should be right. Enunciation varies from pitch to pitch, you might say a word differently than when you are singing it, and hence it is important to have a clear pronunciation.

Fashion Star The Biggest Loser Preview Videos

Who is ready for a little sneak peek at The Biggest Loser and Fashion Star? Well even if you aren’t I have going to share them with you so you better get ready. The Biggest Loser and Fashion Star are two of my favorite Tuesday night shows and I love being able to get a little glimpse at what the next episodes are going to bring. This week is no exception to that either and for you Fashion Star fans I have some extra goodies for you as well. Since I only have one fantastic preview of The Biggest Loser I will kick things off with that video because well it is a doozy. As you may or may not know there was some controversy on the ranch this season, well on the next episode of TBL fans will find out just how much of that story was fact and just how much was fiction. You might be wondering how I can possibly top that, well I don’t know if I can but let me try with a looksy at the next episode of Fashion Star. If that wasn’t enough see what happens when Mentor Nicole Richie encourages Ross to [...]

Last we saw the majestic Mariah Carey she was performing in the Austrian ski village of Ischgl to mark the closing of this winter season. Last night was the 2012 MTV Movie Awards and while celebs competed for the movie trophies, the red carpet was where they really heated up the competition. Airing live from the Gibson Amphitheatre some highlight looks included Twilight’s leading lady and the star of Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen Stewart, who looked fun and dazzling in a silver Guishem dress with yellow and black accents. Her co-star, Charlize Theron also looked award winning in a Lanvin bright red dress. There was also some gorgeous abandonment of dresses in favor of sexy and head turning jumpsuits. Check out our gallery of pics from this year’s MTV Movie Awards to see who wore what and who looked the hottest.

The Scissor Sisters are trapped in a mystical pyramid, covered in a colorful substance, and only the horses can bring them back home!

We ADORE Only The Horses, and this visual accompaniment is super rad, if not a bit too slow-mo for our tastes.

But the song is STILL fist-pumpingly ravetastic!

Check out Scissor Sisters' equestrian themed new video (above)!

We simply can't wait till the 28th to hear more clubby beats, please release Magic Hour (their new album) NOW, thanks!

Next Week, On Glee…

It’s still so hard to believe that she’s gone, but the Glee cast is honoring the legendary Whitney Houston in the best way they know how — by singing, of course!
Now before fans get up in arms — we actually think the McKinley kids do Houston's songs justice. Of course NO ONE could ever [...]

Soooooo many people will be having Arrested Development marathons sometime next year!

Netflix has announced it will release all of the new episodes from the long-awaited fourth season at the same time!

Yes! Not only do we not have to worry about commercial breaks, but we don't have to deal with that annoying seven day wait between new episodes and can watch them all WHENEVER we want!

It's like Christmas Day for great television!

The online streaming service has reportedly devised this strategy to differentiate the company from traditional television competitors.

We're sure pretty much every fan of the show couldn't be more excited to hear this news, but we'd like to advise everyone to be careful! Considering we've all been waiting YEARS for another season, it's probably a good idea to ration the 10 episodes throughout the first month week in order to properly savor the moment.

Hopefully this delivery strategy won't make Arrested Development's glorious return fly by in the blink of an eye.

LOLz!

By pulling off what might be one of the meanest pranks of all time, Tic Tac has created one of the BEST viral marketing campaigns of all time. Or at least, of recent memory.

In the mint company's "Worst Breath on Earth" video, unsuspecting citizens of Rouen, France get the obnoxious surprise of a lifetime when they ask a stranger a simple question and the entire population around them collapses to the floor.

The two-minute ad went viral before it was even officially launched last Wednesday and you'll totally understand why when U watch it (above)!

We doubt anybody's breath has ever been THIS bad, but it definitely gets a point across -- bad breath isn't fun for anybody!

Rapper Will.I.Am Is Being Sued For $2 Million For Fashion Mishap

The past few months we have seen a lot of rappers turn into fashion designers. Kanye West has been debuting his fashion collections in Paris Fashion Week. Today we have news about rapper Will.i.am and his work in the world of fashion. NY Magazine is reporting that the rapper from Black Eyed Peas is being [...]

Darion and I made our way to Las Vegas, NV early yesterday afternoon so that we could see Garbage in concert for the 4th time this week (yes, yes … a bit crazy, I know). To be honest, LV isn’t really my scene but I will happily make the trek into the desert to see my fave bands in concert. Only folks like Nine Inch Nails, Kylie Minogue and Garbage can ensure that I’ll make the trip. We spent our afternoon hanging out in the Forum Shops at Caesar’s Palace and then it was TIME TO ROCK with Garbage! As usual, I managed to get some fun photos … which you can check out below.

Once again, Garbage changed up the setlist a bit and they sounded really fucking fantastic in the Pearl Theater at the Palms Hotel and Casino. I really love that venue because it’s big but not too big. The sound is big and they have jumbotrons — the better to see Shirley Manson even more close up than close up. I can’t even tell you how much fun Darion and I have had with the band in the last week. We’ve enjoyed personal interactions with the band and Shirley especially that mean so much to the both of us. Alas, this is our last show for a while. The band are heading farther East and then will be playing festivals in Europe before they return to SoCal in June (and beyond?). I’m certain the band will do more West Coast dates on the second leg of the tour so D and I are looking forward to more Garbage shows hopefully soon. For now, we can still look forward to the release of the band’s new album Not Your Kind of People, which hits stores on May 15. People, if Garbage are coming anywhere in your vague vicinity, you MUST see them LIVE in concert. Trust me … you will have the time of your LIFE!

Darion and I will be flying back to LA later today … but not before we enjoy a wee bit more of what Sin City has to offer. Here is just a sampling of some of the fabulous culture that exists here in LV:

These photos pretty much say it all. Darion and I did have a fun day yesterday, a fucking fantastic time last night and are looking forward to more fun today. I hope YOU are having a great Sunday!

Metaphysics in the Media

There is no limit to what business ventures a person can engage in. As long as you are confident in your business plan, have business acumen and are assured of profitable returns, you can turn any endeavor into a gold mine. Maybe you wonder whether this applies even in the fashion and entertainment industries. You may be surprised to realize that starting a business in this line could be so profitable that you become as affluent as the renowned personalities of the industry. There are so many things you can do for profit that seeing an entire list can leave you befuddled.

Ghost Hunters Monster Man Sneak Peek Videos

This Wednesday Syfy has brand new episodes of the shows Ghost Hunters and Monster Man. If you aren’t watching these two shows then trust me when I say you should be and just to prove to you what you are missing I have some fantastic sneak peek videos for you. I realize that Ghost Hunters as well as Monster Man are well not your every day type of reality show but that is why I personally like each of them. On Wednesday each show is back with new episodes that are going to be awesome. Personally I can’t get enough of both shows but them again I love these types of reality shows. On Ghost Hunters, Jay and Grant head to a frat house where they investigate a noise of footsteps in the attic of the house. The duo set up the electromagnetic field meter and begin calling out for their presence to be known. Will Jay and Grant find what they are looking for or will they be left in the dark all alone? Immediately following Ghost Hunter is Monster Man and this time Jason “Wee-Man” Acuna guest stars. The team has to create a cast using Jason’s own head [...]

Michelle Williams Opens Up About The Death Of Heath Ledger

It has been a couple of years since the world suffered the sad loss of the brilliant Heath Ledger and this week, for the first time ever, Michelle Williams (the mother of his only child) opens up on Nightline about his death. Michelle appeared on the show to discuss and promote her new film with [...]

I am happy to report that for the first time ever, David and I will be spending Xmas together. Yes, in the almost 5 years that we have been together, we have never been able to spend Xmas together because one or both of us jetted off across the country to be with our parents. Thru a series of circumstances, David decided to stay here in LA with me … and we are very much looking forward to spending our first Xmas together.

We spent part of our evening yesterday picking out decorations for the tiny little Xmas tree we bought. My hope is that we will buy special new ornaments for our tree as the years progress and as our trees get larger. To be honest, we aren’t planning anything lavish for our Xmas night together … but we are looking forward to spending some time celebrating the season as a couple ;)

Last night, I made my way out to the Troubadour in West Hollywood, CA to see the amazing trip hop artist Tricky in concert:

I’ve been a fan of Tricky for years and have seen him a few times before in concert. He did not disappoint. His gravelly voice was in fine form last night and the sold out house just loved every second he was on stage. Unfortch, he decided to keep the lights down real low so I wasn’t able to snap any photos … but the show was fantastic. Last night’s concert was my last show of 2010 … not a bad way to end a year of great shows, let me tell you.

Today … more Xmas prep … I wanna run out and get some stockings and candy canes … you know, the usual. I hope your Xmas prep is going well … since it’s the night before the night before Xmas, we are all running out of time ;)

Country Singer Jake Owen Is Engaged

Congrats!

The Kardashians Go To Church On Easter Sunday

Jesus! That's a lot of Kardashians. Ha!

Sofia Vergara hosted Saturday Night Live this weekend and she killed it from start to finish!

Check out her cleavage opening monologue (above), in which she talks about her journey from Colombia to the very stage she's speaking on and recalls:

"I always heard that immigrants had a really hard life when they came to America, but when I showed up here everyone was so nice. The men bought me drinks and offered me a place to sleep. This country welcomed me with open arms and pulled down pants."

LOLz! Love it!

Survivor One World Episode 8 Recap

We begin this week′s Survivor One World recap of Episode 8 on Day 21. Troyzan and Jay are starting to regret booting Jonas. It may not have been a good idea, since the women now outnumber the men 6 to 5. They hope the next person to be sent away is a woman, to even things up. Tree-mail arrives with a surprise, a bottle of 7-Up! Jeff Probst has 7-Up for the contestants of Survivor One World this week. Image Credit: Wenn.com. The Reward Challenge splits the Tikiano Tribe into two teams again, each with five players. The Green Team has Jay, Troyzan, Kat, Chelsea and Alicia. Gold Team has Mike, Kim, Sabrina, Christina and Leif. Neither team selected Tarzan, so he gets nothing. One at a time, players will slide down from a platform and race to carry a heavy wooden crate. After fetching all the crates assemble the puzzle. The winning team gets a BBQ picnic with steaks, burgers, key lime pie and, of course, plenty of 7-Up! The Green Team holds the lead from the start. But while Troyzan directs the puzzle assembly, Christina on the Gold Team makes up for lost time. She figures out the [...]

Late yesterday afternoon I met up with my homegirl Ollie for a quick run around the Silverlake Reservoir here in LA. I’m not sure what the Hell I was expecting but … the route turned out to be much more strenuous than I had anticipated. Because we had committed to running 2 loops around the reservoir (a little over 4 miles), we made sure to complete our task … but it was not easy … not at all.

I was really unprepared for the steep hilliness that would be involved in the run … as a result, I gassed out way too early in my run. I started to get ankle pain and then knee pain in my left leg so … I had to walk some of the way. I know it’s not a failure to walk but, I dunno, I guess I had my heart set on a solid 4 mile run. I’ll be better prepared for the reservoir the next time … and there will be a next time. After our run, Ollie and I stuffed our mugs at Pho Cafe … and it was DELISH! My 5K training schedule has me resting today and tomorrow but … I’m going to run a few miles today at the gym to keep my legs fresh and to mentally get over my crappy run yesterday. I’m taking tomorrow off for sure tho … I want to be ready for the Hollywood 5K Race Saturday morning :)

Tonight, Adriana and I have a dinner/movie date. We’ll be having delicious Mexican and then will be seeing American Reunion at the ArcLight. It should be fun … but first … I must run. I cannot believe this is my life now. As much as the running isn’t the most pleasurable thing, I do look forward to it … almost on a daily basis. Who knows, maybe I’ll be ready to tackle a full on marathon shortly after my half-marathon in September ;)
