Ghost Hunters Monster Man Sneak Peek Videos

This Wednesday Syfy has brand new episodes of the shows Ghost Hunters and Monster Man. If you aren’t watching these two shows then trust me when I say you should be and just to prove to you what you are missing I have some fantastic sneak peek videos for you. I realize that Ghost Hunters as well as Monster Man are well not your every day type of reality show but that is why I personally like each of them. On Wednesday each show is back with new episodes that are going to be awesome. Personally I can’t get enough of both shows but them again I love these types of reality shows. On Ghost Hunters, Jay and Grant head to a frat house where they investigate a noise of footsteps in the attic of the house. The duo set up the electromagnetic field meter and begin calling out for their presence to be known. Will Jay and Grant find what they are looking for or will they be left in the dark all alone? Immediately following Ghost Hunter is Monster Man and this time Jason “Wee-Man” Acuna guest stars. The team has to create a cast using Jason’s own head [...]

Michelle Williams Opens Up About The Death Of Heath Ledger

It has been a couple of years since the world suffered the sad loss of the brilliant Heath Ledger and this week, for the first time ever, Michelle Williams (the mother of his only child) opens up on Nightline about his death. Michelle appeared on the show to discuss and promote her new film with [...]

I am happy to report that for the first time ever, David and I will be spending Xmas together. Yes, in the almost 5 years that we have been together, we have never been able to spend Xmas together because one or both of us jetted off across the country to be with our parents. Thru a series of circumstances, David decided to stay here in LA with me … and we are very much looking forward to spending our first Xmas together.

We spent part of our evening yesterday picking out decorations for the tiny little Xmas tree we bought. My hope is that we will buy special new ornaments for our tree as the years progress and as our trees get larger. To be honest, we aren’t planning anything lavish for our Xmas night together … but we are looking forward to spending some time celebrating the season as a couple ;)

Last night, I made my way out to the Troubadour in West Hollywood, CA to see the amazing trip hop artist Tricky in concert:

I’ve been a fan of Tricky for years and have seen him a few times before in concert. He did not disappoint. His gravelly voice was in fine form last night and the sold out house just loved every second he was on stage. Unfortch, he decided to keep the lights down real low so I wasn’t able to snap any photos … but the show was fantastic. Last night’s concert was my last show of 2010 … not a bad way to end a year of great shows, let me tell you.

Today … more Xmas prep … I wanna run out and get some stockings and candy canes … you know, the usual. I hope your Xmas prep is going well … since it’s the night before the night before Xmas, we are all running out of time ;)

Country Singer Jake Owen Is Engaged

Congrats!

Even though he had no ring to offer, we think his proposal was still pretty darn romantic. The country crooner spontaneously got down on one [...]

The Kardashians Go To Church On Easter Sunday

Jesus! That's a lot of Kardashians. Ha!
The whole gang, with the exception of Khloe and Rob, went to church this morning in El Lay to celebrate Easter Sunday as one big happy family.
Kim looked stunning as usual in a short skirt and a bright yellow top, while Kourtney's spring dress hid her growing [...]

Sofia Vergara hosted Saturday Night Live this weekend and she killed it from start to finish!

Check out her cleavage opening monologue (above), in which she talks about her journey from Colombia to the very stage she's speaking on and recalls:

"I always heard that immigrants had a really hard life when they came to America, but when I showed up here everyone was so nice. The men bought me drinks and offered me a place to sleep. This country welcomed me with open arms and pulled down pants."

LOLz! Love it!

Survivor One World Episode 8 Recap

We begin this week′s Survivor One World recap of Episode 8 on Day 21. Troyzan and Jay are starting to regret booting Jonas. It may not have been a good idea, since the women now outnumber the men 6 to 5. They hope the next person to be sent away is a woman, to even things up. Tree-mail arrives with a surprise, a bottle of 7-Up! Jeff Probst has 7-Up for the contestants of Survivor One World this week. Image Credit: Wenn.com. The Reward Challenge splits the Tikiano Tribe into two teams again, each with five players. The Green Team has Jay, Troyzan, Kat, Chelsea and Alicia. Gold Team has Mike, Kim, Sabrina, Christina and Leif. Neither team selected Tarzan, so he gets nothing. One at a time, players will slide down from a platform and race to carry a heavy wooden crate. After fetching all the crates assemble the puzzle. The winning team gets a BBQ picnic with steaks, burgers, key lime pie and, of course, plenty of 7-Up! The Green Team holds the lead from the start. But while Troyzan directs the puzzle assembly, Christina on the Gold Team makes up for lost time. She figures out the [...]

Late yesterday afternoon I met up with my homegirl Ollie for a quick run around the Silverlake Reservoir here in LA. I’m not sure what the Hell I was expecting but … the route turned out to be much more strenuous than I had anticipated. Because we had committed to running 2 loops around the reservoir (a little over 4 miles), we made sure to complete our task … but it was not easy … not at all.

I was really unprepared for the steep hilliness that would be involved in the run … as a result, I gassed out way too early in my run. I started to get ankle pain and then knee pain in my left leg so … I had to walk some of the way. I know it’s not a failure to walk but, I dunno, I guess I had my heart set on a solid 4 mile run. I’ll be better prepared for the reservoir the next time … and there will be a next time. After our run, Ollie and I stuffed our mugs at Pho Cafe … and it was DELISH! My 5K training schedule has me resting today and tomorrow but … I’m going to run a few miles today at the gym to keep my legs fresh and to mentally get over my crappy run yesterday. I’m taking tomorrow off for sure tho … I want to be ready for the Hollywood 5K Race Saturday morning :)

Tonight, Adriana and I have a dinner/movie date. We’ll be having delicious Mexican and then will be seeing American Reunion at the ArcLight. It should be fun … but first … I must run. I cannot believe this is my life now. As much as the running isn’t the most pleasurable thing, I do look forward to it … almost on a daily basis. Who knows, maybe I’ll be ready to tackle a full on marathon shortly after my half-marathon in September ;)

Celebrity Apprentice Recap Double Firings on 3 hour Episode 7

Last night was a 3-hour special Celebrity Apprentice. Our recap of Episode 7 begins at Trump Towers where The Donald, flanked by Ivanka and Don Jr., issue the orders for the first of two tasks. The teams are to design a celebrity guidebook for New York City tourists and sell as many as they can for charity. Trump informs them that Toshiba, who is supplying tablets for the task, will pony up an extra $35,000 for the best guidebook as determined by a special guest judge. Teresa Giudice is the Project Manager for the women′s team, Forte, and Dee Snider is PM for the men′s team, Unanimous.  How will Aubrey O’Day handle the excitement on Celebrity Apprentice? Donald Trump, seen here with Miss Universe (and Celebrity Apprentice) Dayana Mendoza, had a long night in a three-hour special episode. Image Credit: Ivan Nikolov / Wenn.com. The ladies are still bickering with each other and generally hate Dayana Mendoza, the Venezuelan Miss Universe. But Dayana did come up with a generally good idea for this task, to produce a guidebook showing the celebrities favorite places in NYC. Across the hall, Dee likes Penn Gillette′s idea of taking skyline photos from the roof [...]

To Play Live Or To Use The Computer

One of the most energetic styles of dance in the world is flamenco and it was born centuries ago in Andalusia, Spain. It is a great mixture of different dance styles that were practiced by Greeks, Romans and Indians and now it become an icon of the Spanish culture. The main characteristics of flamenco are singing, guitar playing and handclaps which together add up as an original dance style and it is very popular all over the world.

Bobbi Kristina Brown Reportedly Cast In Tyler Perrys For Better or Worse

For the past few weeks, we’ve been hearing about Bobbi Kristina‘s romantic relationship with her “pseudo brother” Nick Gordon but today we get to hear some very positive BK news. OK, so I didn’t win the Mega Millions $640 million dollar jackpot last night but my Friday was still pretty sweet. After much deliberation, I decided to bite the bullet and join the gym. I know, I know … those of you who know me are having a hard time believing it but … it’s true. Last night, David’s sister Lara arrived from Connecticut for the weekend. She is heading down to San Diego for a conference and decided to swing thru LA to say hello. I may not be a mega millionaire but, life is pretty good.

So, per my 5K training schedule, I ran 3 miles yesterday (on the treadmill with a 2% incline) and then was so jazzed after my run, I decided to walk a rigorous 25 min. “hiking trail” walk afterward. On my way out of the gym, I went and signed up. So … I’m officially a health nut … or something.

David and I took Lara to one of our fave restaurants last night, Night + Market:

We pretty much ate our faces off and caught up with one another. Being the crazy partiers we are, we came home, watched some eps of Sex and the City and promptly went to bed. Crazy, I tell you.

Today, I’m going to my first yoga class, then I need to walk for another 60 mins. then … who knows. David and Lara will be heading down to SD later today, I will be flying solo here in LA. Happy Weekend. Oh and if someone could turn on the sun, I’d be really appreciative :)

The Rising Fad of Popular Country Songs

Just recently I've become hooked on Jamie Cullum. I mean, what's not to love? He's a jazzy, poppy, bluesy dude who covers everyone from Rihanna to Jeff Buckley and he also covers old standards such as "I Only Have Eyes For You" and "I Get a Kick Out of You." But he's not just your standard cover artist. His original songs hold their own. He sings, plays piano and guitar and sometimes provides his own beat on the drums. If you haven't given this talented Brit a chance, I suggest that you do. He's got a little something for everyone.

Beauty of darkness is such that it is spread over the universe and yet it holds something intriguing beyond our imagination. Imagine yourself in your dark room at night while you cannot sleep and then see the numerous images you make out in the dark. Yes, that's what darkness does; it makes you see what is otherwise not visible or not even possible to visualize.

Facebook has never been known for it's amazing privacy ... but this is a definite step in the right direction!

They've certainly gotten better over the years, but almost everyone knows someone who got in trouble with an employer or was fired for something that ended up on Facebook.

Well, ever since stories have been coming out about potential employers actually asking job applicants to give them their Facebook passwords, the social networking giant has decided to take action.

They've just posted on their blog, saying:

"In recent months, we’ve seen a distressing increase in reports of employers or others seeking to gain inappropriate access to people’s Facebook profiles or private information. This practice undermines the privacy expectations and the security of both the user and the user’s friends."

They even went as far as to basically tell U to tell employers to "stick it" if they ask for your password.

"If you are a Facebook user, you should never have to share your password, let anyone access your account, or do anything that might jeopardize the security of your account or violate the privacy of your friends.

As a user, you shouldn’t be forced to share your private information and communications just to get a job. And as the friend of a user, you shouldn’t have to worry that your private information or communications will be revealed to someone you don’t know and didn’t intend to share with just because that user is looking for a job. That’s why we’ve made it a violation of Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities to share or solicit a Facebook password."

Wow!

Way to stand up for the users, Facebook!

Ever since Facebook filed for its IPO they're certainly all about making people happy.

A Jessica Rabbit Costume Commands Extraordinary Attention

Nothing comes on a silver platter and that is true especially if you are to achieve your lifetime dream of becoming a singer. An easy way for you to show your talent is to get a place at the singing auditions. There are various forms of auditions. Some of the common include the closed auditions. For the closed auditions, calls for participants are made either through the local paper or advertised online. Interested individuals are advised to fill in an application form and send it back within the said time. Only the qualified candidates are contacted and provided with the admission details for the auditions. The screening process for the auditions here tends to be strict and only few people make it past the first stage.

I had an interesting talk with a musician about handling critiques and taking criticism. They had expressed how they thought these people who critiqued him didn't know what they were talking about. I've had this talk with many musicians and artists and thought this would be a great topic to write about. I believe that critiques (positive or negative) are good for musicians.

Yesterday was a pretty quiet yet eventful day. I got my workout run done early so that I could make my haircut appointment and chop off all of my hair. Then, last night, I met up with Ollie, Caleb, Tam and Rob for some pre-birthday drinks in celebration of Caleb’s birthday tomorrow. It was kind of go go go for me yesterday but not at all too hectic.

As far as Thursdays go, yesterday was a pretty good one. My workout felt great, I head is newly shorn and I got to spend good quality time with some of my favorite people. Tonight, David and I will be seeing The Hunger Games so I’m looking forward to that. I loved the film so much the first time I saw it that I cannot WAIT to see it again tonight :)

It’s a cloudy and cool day today … since I’m not running, I’m thinking about going for a hike. HMMM. It’s Friday, y’all. Happy Weekend!

Yesterday we saw the first photos of actress AnnaSophia Robb on the NYC, NY set of the new CW TV series The Carrie Diaries (which is a prequel series based on the teenage life of the Sex and the City character Carrie Bradshaw). Today we get our first look at the first OFFICIAL promo photo of AnnaSophia as Carrie Bradshaw. The photos we saw yesterday are of the young actress on set, in between takes and only half in costume. Click below to see the young Carrie Bradshaw in all her youthful stylish glory.

My guess is that producers were a bit chagrined that those photos from The Carrie Diaries set hit the Internets yesterday because that is not how they likely wanted the world to be introduced to the young Carrie Bradshaw. This promo photo is really cute, really more indicative of what the character will look like in the series (I am LOVING the shoes!!!). I’m still not sure how I feel about The Carrie Diaries as a TV series but I love the Carrie Bradshaw character so much, I’m willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. AnnaSophia makes a really cute Carrie, I think. I love this photo … do you?

Common Acting Mistakes

Divisions in?approaches to acting There are many different schools of thought when approaching the topic of how to act, but possibly the oldest and clearest division lies in the difference between Presentational?and?Representational?acting. Representational acting, the older of the two approaches was largely the more prevalent historically, and gives rise to many stereotypical portrayals of actors of old.
