Paris Hilton Spotted Inside A Police Car

Yes, Paris Hilton was snapped inside a police car this week but no, the trouble-prone socialite was not getting busted for another crime. Paris was filming a public service announcement for the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department as part of the terms of her punishment for her cocaine possession conviction last Fall. You may recall that [...]

Late yesterday afternoon, Darion and I made our way to Palihouse in West Hollywood, CA for a little going away party for our dear friend Jordan. JoJo is moving to Mimi for 3 months to start up a new charitable organization so last night was our last chance to hang out with him before he flies off to Florida.

Jordan’s mom came down for the little soiree so I got to spend some time with her. I hadn’t seen her in far too long so it was great getting to catch up with her. I’m gonna miss Jordan a LOT but he does spend a lot of time traveling so I’m just gonna pretend he’s on an extended trip … until he returns to LA for the Summer ;D

After saying goodbye to Jordan, I met up with Josh and his BFF Essly for dinner at Real Food Daily. Altho I’m not vegan or even remotely vegetarian, I do enjoy the food from time to time and last night was no exception. The food was delish but the company was even better. We had a great time just talking the night away.

Unfortch, I woke up today with a crappy sore throat so I think I’m gonna just lie low today and recuperate. The weather is far too nice to be sick so I’m gonna try and fend off this scratchy throat. I hope your Sunday is going well … I understand there are some football games going on today? Yeah, I’m so not interested … I think I’ll just spin some vinyl and relax ;D

Sundance Today: 50 Cent, James Franco, Ed Helms And More

Gentle readers, here’s a word of advice: when at Sundance, it’s best not to see a midnight screening of a horror movie set within a super creepy house, then travel back to your darkened condo and expect to get some shut eye.
That’s the situation we found ourselves in on Thursday after checking out “Silent House,” [...]

You can say a lot of things about the Sundance Film Festival, but nobody will ever claim that it doesn't have its moments of surrealism. Case in point the photo below, featuring movie star Susan Sarandon playing ping-pong against none other than Grammy winning rap artist Lil Jon. Susan's love for the game has been known for a while -- she's been seen in New York City battling in Washington Square Park, for example -- but even frequent celebrity watchers have to take a moment to drink this in...

Kanye West Really Never Left But There Is Little Doubt That He Certainly Is Back

In the world of music and lyrics, there are really brands of instruments that stand out from the rest, just like when a signer is being idolized by so many due to the quality of his voice or to the way he sings. Each singer in the stage has his own way of singing and has his own unique way of performing.

Try telling someone from the Baby Boomer era that digital LPs are better than vinyl. He'll laugh in your face, and follow it up with a list of reasons as to why vinyl is superior to digital LPs. While both factions of the debate will bring up reasonable points, neither one is better than the other; it's all personal taste. Of course each type of music medium has some aspect that makes it more favored than its counterpart, but neither is entirely perfect.

American Horror Story Does Entertainment Weekly Magazine

American Horror Story, the new FX series created by Ryan Murphy of Nip/Tuck and Glee fame, is featured on the cover of this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine … and rightly so. Seemingly out of nowhere, Horror Story has become THE most talked about show of the new Fall season. For months I’ve been [...]

Misha B Gives Prince A Chance On X Factor UK

It was "Rock Week" on X Factor UK so we were really wondering what Misha B was going to surprise us with this week.
She still stayed true to herself and performed Prince's Purple Rain for the Live Show even though Rock isn't exactly her "natural style."
It wasn't her best performance, but she still pulled it [...]

This is lovely!

Even though she's been told that she's "quiet" during the competition, Sophie Habibis performed a really nice rendition of Bon Jovi's Livin' On A Prayer on the X Factor UK live show during "Rock Week."

Sophie siad she wanted to "show people who I reall am," and trust us, hon, we think you did just that.

Really pretty, Sophie.

Encouraging Teamwork Through Music

J-Rock, for the uninformed, has been a global phenomenon in the new millennium. It is short for "Japanese Rock", an evolution of Western punk, rock, and metal music in Japan - that is tied up to the "Visual Kei movement", a fashion movement based on a costume play (cosplay) of different Japanese animation series.

It is very difficult to find any adult who doesn't like music. Everyone has their own taste and enjoys different types of music, but there aren't many people out there who completely dislike music. In fact, most adults enjoy listening to the radio or downloaded music in their free time. They listen in their car on the way to work and in the shower when getting ready for the day. They may even listen to it through an mp3 player when working out or running errands.

Yes, there are indeed far too many smart phones running amok these days, and I really do hate to be jumping up onto the Apple bandwagon (it's a cart, really), but I have to say that Apple's iPhone 4 is by far the best product out at the moment. I've tried a few of the Android models but the quality varies so much from model to model that you don't really know what you're getting.

An iPhone for an Eye

Getting some good finance certifications is without a doubt very much recommended if you want to pursue a career as a stock broker or a financial analyst for a big company. Being a stock broker or a financial advisor can really be achieved by anyone who graduates with a degree in economy but being successful in these professions requires much more than that nowadays as there are some finance related certifications that you would need to get to be able to increase your salary base and get you to a higher level in the financial world, or at least inside your company structure.

Steve Jobs: Movie Stars, Filmmakers React To His Death

Steve Jobs, who died at 56 on Wednesday (October 5), was not just the visionary behind Apple and its groundbreaking technology, but also a leading force at Pixar, the Oscar-winning animation studio responsible for films like "Toy Story," "Finding Nemo," "Up" and more. His contributions to movies, both in terms of story and the way [...]

There's something about the subject of gangsters that never gets old. Particularly the Hollywood variety, as depicted in films like "The Departed," "Get Shorty," "Snatch," "Donnie Brasco," HBO's "The Sopranos," and of course "The Godfather." They're all so cool, slick, watchable. It's that iconic allure that had us excited for Ruben Fleischer's next flick, "Gangster Squad," the moment it was announced.

The film is based on the L.A. Times' seven-part series, "Tales From The Gangster Squad," by writer Paul Lieberman, which revolved around the LAPD's war on infamous mobster Mickey Cohen. Heavy-hitter Sean Penn will play Cohen, and Josh Brolin and Ryan Gosling will play two of the cops who try to bring him down, and always likable Emma Stone is in the mix as a sassy "siren" caught in a love triangle with Gosling's character and one of the gangsters.

Another familiar face in the cast is Anthony Mackie, who couldn't tell us much about his role in the film, but promised we won't be disappointed. We asked Mackie for his thoughts on Gosling's big year, as well as what might play out between the two actors onscreen.

"Ryan has been a friend of mine for a long time, since 'Half Nelson,' I’m glad he’s finally in a position where he’s getting his just due because he is really one of the most talented actors of his generation," Mackie told us at the "Real Steel" premiere. "'Gangster Squad' is just a bunch of great guys. Ruben is a great director and the story is kind of funky and it’s a part of LA history that a lot of people don’t know. It’s going to be a cool movie."

Angelina Jolie Seeks New UN Refugee Job

Actress Angelina Jolie is seeking a promotion from the United Nations refugee agency. Currently, she is a goodwill ambassador, but Jolie wants to expand her role and involvement. One of the areas she wants to become more active in is the growing refugee crisis stemming from Afghans fleeing into Pakistan and Iran. Both countries host some 2.7 million Afghan refugees. Angelina Jolie may have less time for Kung Fu Panda if she gets the UN job she wants. Image Credit: Lia Toby / WENN.com. For some 10 years now, Angelina Jolie has been working with the UN. as a goodwill ambassador, visiting dozens of countries and mobilizing awareness and relief for refugees. Most notably, she spent considerable time in Pakistan when the nation was ravaged by floods. Recently, Jolie made her way to Lampedusa Island which lies between Italy and Libya. Tens of thousands of refugees from war-torn Libya have fled to there, over-burdening existing facilities. Antonio Guterres, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees welcomes Angelina Jolie to expand her role and involvement in aiding refugees. He said of Jolie, ″our special envoy mainly for the most dramatic refugee situations that require a lot of advocacy.″ The UNHCR is currently [...]

The Popularity of Tribute Bands

Indeed, I am talking about the "The Americana Band" and not just a general term for bands that play Americana music. As you may know, this genre can be loosely defined as a culturally-rich type of music that is basically country but also spans to bluegrass, folk, rock and contemporary. It's a crazy combination of music genres that is rising to prominence.

The Search for the Greatest Piano Teacher

Peter Hook and the Light brought their "Unknown Pleasures" show back to London's Scala, much to the joy of Joy Division fans both young and not so young. Young fans looking for new alternative music will find that, despite the passage of 30 years, Joy Division's songs sound fresh, and they will see the clear influence this band exerts right now on many of today's most famous names. Peter Hook and the Light, like the original Joy Division, is a different beast entirely than Joy Division on their two studio albums. To me, this is disappointing because it tends to make their live sound too similar to a host of other rock bands. That said, Peter Hook is one of the most important figures in British popular music in the last...well, ever to be frank. If he prefers to ditch the complicated audio processing and return to his roots, then he is quite probably right to do so.

Chippendales in New York

People have their own preference and desires when it comes to making choices, but there is equally enough in stock to take care of everybody`s desire and preference. In the entertainment industry, television, radio and theatre, there is so much that most people find it difficult to settle on a choice. Comedy has a very unique quality of drawing the attention of the people from the boredom of the day; it does this by representing issues in new and very amusing ways to appeal to the people around.

Former cop Fernando Flores dropped a lawsuit on Britney Spears's lap last year, one in which has prompted Brit to strike back time and time again.

This time, however, Flores has made charges and allegations that are incredibly specific and demeaning, including:

"Defendant Spears was mentally unstable, and personally obnoxious and demanding, requiring her staff on various occasions and for no rationally discernable reasons to address her as "Jennifer" or "Queen Bee," on other occasions, Defendant Spears would cut her hair in an erratic fashion, leaving uneven and bald spots on her head."

"Spears made repeated unwanted sexual advances to Plaintiff, summoning (him) to her room at her residence for no other purpose or reason than to expose her naked or near naked body to Plaintiff," according to the suit.

But Flores insists "the sexual advances of Spears were unwanted for a variety of reasons."

"Spears had obnoxious personal habits, such as chain smoking cigarettes, which made her smell continually of stale tobacco," he wrote in his court document.

She broke wind or picked her nose unselfconsciously and unapologetically before Plaintiff (Flores) and others and she was constantly and gratuitously loud and profane in her speech.

"She did not bathe for days on end, did not use deodorant, did not brush her teeth, did not fix her hair, did not wear shoes or socks."

According to Flores, he suffered psychological damage, anxiety attacks, depression and insomnia as a result of Britney's alleged harassment.

To us, we're not sure what bringing up those specifics is really trying to prove. Unless he's trying to be adamant as to why he never wanted the alleged advances.

But that's not all. He claims she was doing drugs, too:

"Based on his former experience as a police officer, Plaintiff (Flores) is informed and believes and alleged thereon that Defendant Spears was often under the influence of illegal prescription and non-prescription drugs, such as Ritalin, Narcon (Naloxone) and methamphetamines," the documents state.

Wow.

It's hard to take such allegations so seriously without concrete proof, because it is NOT uncommon for people to try and take advantage of another person's fame. Especially for the tune of at least $10 million dollars.

We have a feeling that this is about to get extremely intense before anything is resolved!

Yesterday we got our first look at Willow Smith‘s FABULOUS new music video for her song Whip My Hair and today we get to see photos of the Lil’ Miss Thang out and about in NYC with her famous parents Jada Pinkett and Will Smith on the day her music video took the Internets by storm. It’s clear, Diva Willow is ready for the spotlight:

I know that some people think that 9 going on 10 years old is a bit young for a child to be embracing fame and fortune but in Showbiz families, it’s just par for the course. Considering that Will and Jada are huge stars in their own right, it’s only natural that their children would want to follow in their footsteps. The couple’s other son, Jaden Christopher, is already a little movie star himself. I am LOVING Willow‘s hot song … and I wish her much success. The girl is just adorable. I’m certain her parents will take good care of her as she embarks on her own path to fame and fortune. I can’t wait to see how Willow Smith‘s career unfolds.
