Angelina Jolie Seeks New UN Refugee Job

Actress Angelina Jolie is seeking a promotion from the United Nations refugee agency. Currently, she is a goodwill ambassador, but Jolie wants to expand her role and involvement. One of the areas she wants to become more active in is the growing refugee crisis stemming from Afghans fleeing into Pakistan and Iran. Both countries host some 2.7 million Afghan refugees. For some 10 years now, Angelina Jolie has been working with the UN. as a goodwill ambassador, visiting dozens of countries and mobilizing awareness and relief for refugees. Most notably, she spent considerable time in Pakistan when the nation was ravaged by floods. Recently, Jolie made her way to Lampedusa Island which lies between Italy and Libya. Tens of thousands of refugees from war-torn Libya have fled to there, over-burdening existing facilities. Antonio Guterres, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees welcomes Angelina Jolie to expand her role and involvement in aiding refugees.
